What we use, in plain words
Two things run for everyone because they store nothing on your device and cannot tell one person from another. Everything else waits for you to say yes. We ask almost everywhere in the world, not only where a law makes us. If you said no, we do not ask again for a year.

Change your mind
This opens the same panel as the banner. Turning something off also deletes what it had already stored in your browser.
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we treat that as a no everywhere in the world and never show you the banner at all. That signal is also how we honour opt-out requests under the California CCPA and the other US state privacy laws, and under Quebec Law 25 you are asked up front like a visitor in Europe. In China we ask separately before anything is sent to a company outside the country, because one combined yes is not enough there. Server logs that keep the site up are separate: they hold no advertising identifier and are covered in our privacy policy.
